This story was written by Warren Ellis, with art by Adi Granov. One of the first things I noticed on my copy was a quote at the very top from screenrant.com "...among the best Iron Man stories ever written." Right away I was excited to start reading this. Within the first four pages I knew this book wasn't going to be the same as the movie, mostly because Dr. Killian was already dead.
Now, I don't want to get too into the differences, just in case anyone hasn't read this book or seen the movie. I will say that I loved every bit of this book. The art was intense, and the writing was classic Iron Man, everything Stark said had an intellectual, sarcastic humor to it. So when it comes down to it, I would recommend everyone to read this book, whether you're a seasoned comic book fan, or someone who's only seen the movies.
I love that you tackled something that is current and such a huge trend right now. I have to say that I had never read, heard, or really even seen anything about Iron Man or the Iron Man comics before the movies came out. They are what put Iron Man on the map for me. I will say that I was a little skeptical at first so I skipped the first movie and got roped into watching the second one when it came out in theaters. I still have yet to see Iron Man 3, but this has increased my interest in the movie and sparked my curiosity in the book. I definitely plan on checking at least one, if not both of these!

ReplyDeleteI love everything about Ironman! I'm literally obsessed, I watched all the movies yet I have never read any of the ironman books because I simply have not had the time. I assume the comics are all much better than the movies, since that's the way it usually goes! I will have to give it a try!
